Star Wars Shattered Empire #4, and final impressions on the series

Star Wars: Shattered Empire #4

IMG_3780

This last issue of this mini series was all action packed, once again great art and an interesting read. The ending? It was all right, nothing special.

IMG_3778

It was nice to see Luke in this final issue to see how he is as a Jedi Knight after Episode VI and comparing him between Episode IV & V in the Skywalker Strikes comic series.

IMG_3779

Overall I was hoping to see something more between the bridge of Episode VI and The Force Awakens but that doesn’t mean we wont have another series, which hopefully would be better than this mini series. I didn’t think this was rushed but it didn’t keep me entertained for long. It had its nice moments especially during the battle of Endor and seeing the original cast but over all I could have passed on this.

I am not sure if I will buy the trade paperback for this when it’s released as of yet. For now I will continue reading Chewbacca and would like to purchase Darth Vader trade paperback Volume 1 and possibly Princess Leia trade paperback.

Star Wars Volume 1: Skywalker Strikes impressions

Star Wars Volume 1: Skywalker Strikes. Includes issue 1-6.

IMG_3730

This was a fantastic read. I really didn’t know what to expect from this but, I was hooked from page 1 and that’s no exaggeration. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment.

IMG_3731

For those who don’t know, the story takes places after Episode IV. I haven’t read the novels such as Heir to the Jedi by Kevin Hearne and The Weapon of a Jedi by Jason Fry, which took place after episode IV and before Skywalker Strikes, this did not hinder my experience from reading this.

Jason Aaron the writer did an excellent job to believe that these are the same characters that I know from the movies. And that’s what made it believable was his script for these characters. Some may say that what happened in the story was a bit hit and miss but even so what the characters were saying was still a great to read, especially with Boba Fett. Without spoiling anything he was more ruthless in this than we ever saw him in the movies.

IMG_3734

The drawings by John Cassaday was a sight to see. I would say more or less of everything I saw was great, the interaction with characters the vehicles and the way we were seeing the image was done great.

There are some moments some people may wonder if it was necessary and it can change the way we look at the whole story from Episode V because of what took place here. But from my understanding I don’t think there has been any plot holes/continuity errors from these 6 issues, which is a good thing as it shows that they are taken extra care while creating the story.

IMG_3735

Do I recommend it? Defiantly, but I know only hardcore Star Wars fans would actually be interested in this. But I would say if you are not a big fan and only interested in the original trilogy it is something worth checking out. It’s not designed for younger audience so bare in mind, there are severed hands being shown etc. which we all have seen in the original movies, just take that in mind.

IMG_3732 IMG_3733

I can’t wait to read Volume 2 and to pick up Star Wars: Darth Vader next.

STAR WARS: Chewbacca #1 & Shattered Empire #3 quick impressions

IMG_3646

The first issue of Chewbacca reminded me of Lando, quick start and interesting read over all and unique art. I have never read any comics created by Gerry Duggan and Phil Noto, not that I am aware of.

Interesting new characters so far and the plot was done quickly to get on with the story. As you might expect Chewbacca does not talk he just mumbles, growls and rages but that doesn’t take anything away.

And if you were familiar with Chewbacca from the original trilogy, well I would say he is just like in the movies. And now we get to see him doing stuff we have never seen outside of the movies.

IMG_3647

IMG_3652

With Shattered Empire #3 things got better. I will be honest that the first two issues were not entertaining enough for me and I thought it was rather boring. But this one was an ok read, which I’m glad as I wasn’t going to stop buying the comics, as they are only a mini series.

IMG_3648

We had great art as always and the script was decent enough, especially with Solo and C-3PO talking as they would in the movies. Greg Rucka captured that. Without spoiling anything the later part did remind me of Episode I. I believe they were going for that and it was a nice nostalgia, if you haven’t got much hate for those prequels.

Yo-Kai Watch Episode 5: Japanese & English comparison

We have come to the end of Yo-Kai week. Ending on episode 5. Here is another comparison between the English versions of Yo-Kai Watch. Episode 5 aired Oct 9th, 2015.
I’m not going to go in-depth if there were a lot of script changes in the episode, if any.

Again as I am not going to write much about this episode I will now show you the paint edits throughout the episode. I may have missed some, if so feel free to let me know.
I will provide 2 pictures like before to show the comparison between both versions so that you can see the English edits from the Japanese version. Thankfully not a lot of paint jobs in the episode, which was less work for me. I really liked this episode
On top the Japanese while the bottom will be the English edits.

“Manjimutt: Part 4” didn’t have any changes that I saw except for that title that comes up in the Japanese but not in the English version which I have showed in other comparisons.

“Yo-Kai Illoo” didn’t have many edit, which was good. It wasn’t chocolates they were handing out it was gifts this time around. Slight change in the English dub.

Better to show this rather than 2 chocolate bars being flung in the air after Jibanyan being smacked.

This was an interesting change. In the Japanese you only see the idol programme at the end. When Jibanyan has stopped switching the channels. In the English dub you see the idol programme come out at least 4 times when the channels get changed by Jibanyan.

And there you have it, the last episode of the week. From now on Yo-Kai Watch will be airing every Monday. I would like to thank everyone who has read, shared, commented all week on this Yo-Kai premiere week. Thank you very much for all of your support!
Will I be doing future episodes? Possibly, but if I did I won’t release them as soon as the dub airing. If you would like to see more, please let me know. I may do videos on Yo-Kai Watch in a near future as well.

Thanks again!

(I do apologies if there are any spelling or grammar mistakes. I noticed there was a few on my episode 1 article which then I went back to fix the errors. I am writing this late at night, it has just gone 3.05am all so writing scripts/articles is not my strong point. But waiting for a video for these will take longer.)

English: Cookie bear!!~ Instead of Goro-chan. Pun: Gorogoro is a Japanese onomatopoeia for around that something is rolling.

Also I found the mother lip-syncing was way off.

And there we have episode 4 done with. That’s everything I found in this episode. No eye catches. A lot of a paint job edits especially the odd one with the music book.
