I would like to say that I did enjoy this series but I am unsure if I will continue watching it. The first episode for me took its time to grab my attention and I’m glad I didn’t stop half way because by the end my feelings towards this series changed.
We follow Yoshino who has been searching for work in Tokyo and does not want to go back home, living in the countryside. Which I could relate to myself that I don’t want to work in my home town but rather in a big city, and I assume some of the viewers have even experienced this sort of thing, coming of age. After another rejection she gets asked to go to the countryside for some work, and from she gets in to a situation that she doesn’t want to be involved in.
After seeing the countryside and getting to know her role this is where we find out the heart and sole of the other characters and their ambition and in what lengths will they go to make her stay.
With every character we saw in the first episode, they were tolerable enough but I know there’s a few more we have not got introduced as of yet. Hopefully they will be as entertaining as the others.
In my other first episode impression I have mentioned the OP or the music. The OP was rather catchy and it also go me thinking of Hanasaku Iroha for some weird reason, maybe on the location where it is set. Speaking of which, that’s another P.A Works series. The music for me was unforgettable but who knows next time I might hear a few tracks that I will like.
The animation it self was the typical P.A Works but didn’t have that crisp to it, like some other series I have seen with them. I loved Yoshino’s character design mind.
Not sure who I would recommend this for as of yet because as I am unsure if I enjoy it enough for recommendation but I assume if you like anime based around work, countryside and comedy then give this first episode a watch.
If you would like to watch this series, you can do so on Crunchyroll.
